Fundraising
Fundraising events focus on providing a service to the parents and building community within the school, while at the same time generating funds.

Enhancing the educational experience
Fundraising proceeds are used to support enrichment programs that enhance the educational experience for all of our children. At the onset of each school year, the Parent Association approves its annual budget, which financially supports these enrichment programs:

Arts Around—parent volunteers interpret curriculum-based fine arts for lower school classes and display fine art prints monthly in the middle and upper schools
Faculty and staff appreciation—gifts of appreciation are distributed to staff throughout the year
Libraries—the annual used book sale benefits CA’s libraries
Circle of Concern—parents educate other parents about pertinent child and adolescent development issues, including substance abuse and character education
Financial aid—about 12% of CA’s families benefit from financial aid
Class social events—parents plan parties throughout the year for the students and sponsor divisional and class parent events, such as picnics
Divisional and school-wide meetings—the Parent Association is committed to timely communication of important information
Mustang Spirit Club–parents sell clothing and other items to support CA teams and run the concession stand at athletic events

Capital improvements and school requests
Our fundraisers have been incredibly successful in creating monies that are allocated for capital improvements and school requests that would otherwise not be funded by the school’s current budget. In the past three years, the Parent Association has donated nearly $150,000 to CA campus improvements, including:

Weight room equipment and climbing wall addition
Resurfacing the Lower School basketball court
Pianos for music studios and rehearsal areas
Interactive whiteboards and ceiling-mounted projectors
Concession stand in the gym
Lacrosse and soccer practice wall
Patio furniture for outdoor gathering areas
High-end digital video and audio editing stations
Display cases for art and trophies
Outdoor lighting and security cameras
Theatre lighting control board
Upper School after-prom support

We ask that all CA families participate in our several fundraisers wherever they can.
